Food and Fitness. Two of my favorite things. Many times food is the reason people turn to fitness and vice versa. I love a balance between good eats and quality exercise, and am always up for an event that includes both.
These unique Seattle events include fitness AND food. The perfect combination. Feel no guilt about indulging in chocolate, wine, or frozen yogurt after exercising for a couple of hours.

Mud and Chocolate Trail Run
If chocolate motivates you to get moving, then this race is for you! Two times a year, in April and November, the Redmond Watershed plays host to a fun and tasty run. Choose between a half marathon or a 4.5 mile trail run. The course goes over rolling hills through single track trails. During the race, stop at the chocolate aid stations for a little mid run fuel. Then indulge in chocolate treats at the Chocomania finish area.
There are two things I like to do on a Sunday morning. Get a good workout in, and linger over breakfast cocktails and food at brunch. I know I am not the only one who enjoys this, as the folks over at Seattle Mag put together a Brunch Run based on those two activities. At the beginning of June, in Magnuson Park, the brunch run takes off. Runners move through an easy 5K to a finish line filled with mimosas, bloody Mary’s, and brunch bites.
Woodinville Wine Ride
For 30 miles, pedal through a flat and easy route along Lake Washington. The ride starts in Woodinville wine country then heads into Seattle and back again. There is a midpoint and finish line festival where you can use the coupons on your rider bib for wine tastings. Feel free to stop at some of the wineries along the way for some extra tastings!
Shuck ‘n’ Share
If you have plans to head to the famous Washington State Seafood Festival, why not get a little exercise and support a good cause? The 5K Shuck ‘n’ Share fun run is an easy, flat road race. It’s the perfect way to whet your appetite for all the oyster eating later in the day. Your race registration includes a ticket to the seafood festival. Even better, all proceeds go to Project Share, an assistance program for low-income families.
The FroYo Run
Part run part party, the FroYo Run is a fun fitness event that uses frozen yogurt as a motivator. End the run at the froyo zone, 75 feet of musical misting tunnel. Choose between a 5K or a 10K and enjoy musical stations throughout the course to keep you going. Your entry fee includes a special goodie bag that includes a cup of froyo and lots of swag.
