I’m Katie McGrain, and it’s my goal to help you travel for the experience.
I am passionate about actively exploring the world and using all of my senses to discover new places and new foods. My very first active adventure (biking up the coast of Cape Cod at 14) set the tone for the rest of my life. And 15 years since that trip set everything in motion, I have started this blog to inform and inspire you to travel with your whole body.

More About Me
I’m a New Jersey bred girl, but after 10 years of living in Vermont I consider myself a Vermonter (though technically I will never be a true Vermonter). I spent five years teaching elementary school before deciding I needed a change. So, I headed out on a 3.5 month backpacking trip of Central America where I boarded down a volcano, got stranded on an island, and ate and ate and ate.
Now, I am living as an expat teacher in Seoul, South Korea and LOVE that I can hike spectacular mountains, see ancient history and eat unlimited BBQ all within 30 minutes of my apartment. I love writing lists, watching way too much TV, and drinking good beer. I love my dog, anything with avocado in it, and lifting very heavy weights. I love that my family supports me in any choice I make, and that I am fortunate enough to travel this awe-inspiring world.
Life is amazing. The world is incredible. I love it all.
