The exotic beauty of El Nido, is unlike anything I have seen before. The northern tip of Palawan Island in the Philippines is peppered with dozens of islands containing limestone cliffs and hidden lagoons. White sand beaches flanked with lush jungles are an incredible contrast to the multi-hued ocean water; colors that range from crystal clear to turquoise to deep blue.
The physical beauty of El Nido is simply exquisite, but there is more to this neck of the woods than just pretty scenery.
Though El Nido is quickly becoming a huge tourist destination, the local culture has not yet been squashed. The people are some of the most friendly I have ever encountered, the food is delicious, and the way of life is simple.
Photographs and words will only get across a fraction of the true beauty of the landscape and people of El Nido.
Breakfast every morning with a view like this simply does not get old!
The center of town
The Local Neighborhoods are on the edge of town, and an excellent place to see what life is really like in el nido.
Boats preparing for a day of island hopping
Island Hopping to the Small Lagoon
Entering the “secret Lagoon”
Tricycles are the very uncomfortable, sometimes unsafe, but most exciting way to get around town
an isolated stretch On las Cabanas Beach.
Sunset from Marimegmeg Beach
Still beautiful even during a storm!
